LAB NOTES: Roasted Turnips

Wayne AKA the Mad Food Scientist here.
As part of making Gardener’s Pie last weekend, I roasted some turnips to go into the Lentil ragout and into the Mashed topping.
17 November, 2024: Roasted Turnips Experiment #: 01
INGREDIENTS:
2kg/4.4lbs Turnips
Sunflower seed oil
1 TBSP Sea Salt
1 Palmful Oregano
1 Palmful Basil
1 Palmful Rosemary
1 Palmful Thyme
Fresh ground black pepper.
METHOD:
Preheat the airfryer/Oven to 232C/450F
Peel and cube the turnips.
Line a baking dish with parchment paper
Put into a bowl add oil to coat
Add the seasonings.
Use Mk 1 Human hands to mix the turnips, oil and seasonings
Put the seasoned turnips into the baking dish.
Place in the airfryer/oven for 30 minutes.
Stir halfway through
After 30 minutes stir again.
Return to the airfryer/oven for another 15 minutes.

I followed the method above.
OBSERVATIONS: 17 November, 2024
The roasted turnips added a nice depth to both the Lentil ragout and the mashed topping.
I will be doing this again.
